The crowning glory of the chesed institutions that were erected by the Sanzer Rebbe of blessed memory in Kiryat Sanz, is the "House of Hope”, which has sheltered hundreds of babies and children coming from broken homes, as well as homeless children, orphans, and those plagued by various unfortunate social circumstances. The Institution serves as a warm and devoted home, and is a superb substitute for the absent parents’ embrace. Girls from as far away as Eilat in the south and Kiryat Shmona in the north arrive at its doors. Each of the children has all of her needs filled in the Home, both spiritual and physical, and bountifully, until she is ready to build her own home.
The young charges receive personal attention and individual, homey care throughout their entire stay. The staff strive with all their hearts and souls to fill the role of the parents, showering each child individually with love and attention.
It is hard to discern that these children are raised in an institution, from their physical appearance, as well as from their behavior, as it is clearly apparent that a tremendous amount of nurturing is invested in their care. The dedicated and specialized staff includes, among others, a housemother who lives on the premises with her family, experienced counselors, registered social workers, and continuous consultation with the local psychological services. Additionally, there are professional teachers and volunteers who provide assistance for various activities, homework and remedial classes in all subjects. The girls of the Home receive their education in the Kiryat Sanz school.
They merge with the local children and become completely integrated until they too become an integral part of the local population. The Home administration also concerns itself with the girls’ futures. When they reach marriageable age, the administration takes upon itself to marry them off respectfully and helps them set up their new homes. The three-story building of the Home can house approximately 100 wards. The Home is built with maximum comfort in mind: modernly-appointed bedrooms and dressing rooms, therapy rooms with state-of-the-art equipment, a magnificent playroom, a most interesting library for special activities, quiet reading and game times, a spacious dining room, spotless kitchen, clean laundry room, a large clothing storage room, a beautiful exercise room, a comfortable guest lounge, and a large yard, fully equipped with playground facilities. The "Kiryat Sanz House of Hope" operates 365 days a year, seven days a week and 24 hours a day. The Institution is recognized by the Child and Youth Services of the Social and Welfare Department and is under its constant supervision. It receives high praise and admiration from the Child and Youth Services, as well as all other social services that are involved from throughout the country.
